Update: Los Angeles gets a fake MF DOOM show
As a quick Google search for “MF DOOM fake shows” illustrates, MF DOOM fake shows are nothing new. A 2007 appearance at the San Bernadino edition of Rock the Bells which featured what many believed to be an imposter of the British-born rapper is perhaps the most profound example of this, but many others cities and festivals (namely Pitchfork) have been rumored victims as well.

The Real Top 50 Rap Blogs
First off, no shots. A few of my peoples work at Vibe Magazine, so it’s all love.
That being said, I had a convo with one particular editor and he knows I’m in disagreement with a large portion of the Top 50 Hottest Rap Blogs List, me and pretty much everybody on the internets. In fact, the only people who seem to be cool with the list are A) Bloggers who were ranked fairly and don’t care about anybody else’s seeding B) Bloggers who had no business being ranked so high (close to no.1) C) Bloggers whose unrecognizable URLs may just get a boost from making the list.

Paul Pierce Dunks On Chris Bosh
Paul Pierce is a bona fide baller no doubt. But there’s been plenty of times when he appeared to have the hangtime of an ostrich. Well, ladies and gents, yesterday wasn’t one of those times. It’s one thing to be posterized by a notorious dunker like a LeBron or Kobe, but you’ll never hear the end of it when you let a pure shooter dig his calf-high socks into your abdomen.
The technical foul called on Pierce should have went to Chris Bosh for faking the injury. This ain’t the NFL. We can see your face buddy.
By the way, the Celtics won 116-103.

In Case You Missed It: 50 Cent’s BISD Sells 159K in First Week
“All that aggressive content’ didnt work”
50 Cent has officially hit a career low.
The G-Unit General landed on The Billboard 200 this week at the no. 5 spot—his lowest debut since 2007’s Curtis came in at second place below Kanye West’s Graduation. As expected, the disc managed to sell 159,700 units, according to the Nielsen SoundScan, marking the first time that the rap superstar failed to go gold in his first week. This number includes two weeks of digital sales on iTunes.
As previously reported, when 50 first burst onto the scene with Get Rich or Die Tryin’ in 2002 he sold 872,000 units in his first week. In 2004, his sophomore album, The Massacre, rang up over 1.15 million discs and Curtis moved close to 695,000 units.

But it turns out that capitalism, not politics, was behind the move to erase the controversially-named restaurant’s sign for MTV. In an exclusive interview with Brokelyn, “Popular Demand” director Rik Cordero says the decision was not made by him, the network, or the artists. So whose call was it?

Lil Boosie Wants Rehab, Not Jail
Bad Azz tells RapGodfathers that he belongs in rehab and not jail because of his marijuana addiction. According to WAFB, Boosie’s sentence has been bumped up to 10 years. Huh?!
“If I made a mistake with marijuana, why am I not eligible for rehab?” Boosie questioned. “I’ve been on marijuana since a teenager. I need some rehab. Jail is not rehab.”
UPDATE: According to our political connects: He was sentenced to 10 total. Six were suspended. So four to serve. With good behavior 2-3 he will be out.

DJ Allah Mathematics debuted this sequel to the classic Meth and Rae joint the other night on his show Math Files on AllHipHop Radio. Rae and Meth both spit, and it’s a decent cut, but I don’t know, it just lacks the oomph of the original. Extra points for the snaps at the end though.

Rectal Cancer Tumour Destroyed by Ultrasound is a First
A patient with rectal cancer has become the first to have part of their tumour destroyed by ultrasound, say UK doctors.
A team of radiologists, surgeons and oncologists at Hammersmith Hospital in London used high intensity ultrasound to heat up and kill the cancer.
They say the technique will allow faster and more accurate targeting of tumours than conventional treatments.
Hammersmith Hospital will offer the treatment to advanced stage patients.
High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is carried out under general anaesthetic.
The device can treat tumours up to about 40cc volume and can heat the tissue up to 90 degrees centigrade
