It happened to Julian Assange when someone got into his personal dating records in December. So why should it be so strange that someone hacked into Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook account?
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Zuckerberg is so busy telling the rest of us how safe and secure our private information is in Facebook. Just a little ironic.
At some point Tuesday, someone hacked onto Zuckerberg’s fan page on Facebook and left this message:
“Let the hacking begin. If facebook (sic) needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn’t Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way? Why not transform Facebook into a ‘social business’ the way Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus described it? [Link] What do (more…)

A car that runs on the same power used by a toaster has broken the world record for the fastest solar-powered motor.
Guinness Book of Records adjudicators were on hand to witness the £175,000 vehicle race to glory on an Australian navy base airstrip in Nowra, New South Wales.
Sunswift IVy, driven by professional racers Barton Mawer and Craig Davis of electric car firm Tesla, took the 23-year-old record by 5mph.

Lil’ Kim – Ladies Night Feat Missy Elliot, Angie Martinez & Left Eye
I know the Lil’ Kim-Foxy Brown-Nicki Minaj “beef” (yes, I use that
word very loosely) is getting as old as “thugs” dressed in skinny
jeans tucked in Uggs, but let’s have a serious dialogue about this. As
long as Lil’ Kim keeps walking around in I.R.S. shirts and
hats—“international rockstars,” not the folks who took all her worldly
possessions a few years back, and Nicki Minaj continues to eerily be
reminiscent of the ‘95 Kim, this is going to continue to be on our
minds… Oh, and no Foxy is pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of
things. To discuss her in any aspect beyond the $100,00 she’s
currently being sued for would be the equivalent of trying to debate
if Foxy Brown could even hear her own diss record—just impractical.
Same goes for Jacki-O who has decided to join the melee, firing
paintballs (because “Bang, Bang” is nowhere near silver bullet-type (more…)

January 25 witnessed widespread street protests in Egypt. 90,000 Egyptians came out in seven main squares in Cairo while tens of thousands more came out in Alexandria, Mahalla, Suez, and several other Egyptian cities. The protests continue today in downtown Cairo as I write.
The popular uprising was first proposed on Facebook via the “We are all Khaled Said” page, a group with more than 400,000 members dedicated to the memory of Khaled Said, a young Egyptian activist from Alexandria who was brutally tortured and fatally beaten into a pulp by local police last year.
17 opposition groups, as well as a number of prominent intellectuals and celebrities officially endorsed and joined the uprising. The Muslim Brotherhood did not officially endorse the protests though members likely joined in their individual capacities.

I was wondering how aggressive and granular Facebook would allow contextual advertising to get. With the latest talk of Facebook’s “Sponsored Stories,” I think they make it clear that no content must go unadvertised.
Right now there’s a battle on Facebook between quality personal user experience and methodical ad revenue implementation. Every era and medium brings a new threshold of how much advertising consumers are willing to be slapped in the face with before flipping the bird and bailing on something they were previously enjoying.
The testing process that Facebook is obviously entrenched in smells like this:
