YOU BE THE JUDGE…
Remake of the Full “Tupac Back” video below…
A man has admitted to being involved in the attack on rap star Tupac Shakur in 1994, inside Manhattan’s Quad Studios in November of 1994, after allegedly being paid $2,500 dollars by James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond.
Dexter Isaac, a former friend of Rosemond, is an inmate currently serving life in prison for murder, robbery and other offenses.
Isaac came forward Wednesday (June 15th) with the information on the eve of what would be Tupac’s 40th birthday.
He confessed to his involvement in the November 30th, 1994 robbery of Tupac Shakur to AllHipHop.com, after Jimmy Henchman identified him in a statement, relating to Henchman’s indictment for dealing numerous kilos of cocaine.
“I want to apologize to his family [Tupac Shakur] and for the mistake I did for that sucker [Jimmy Henchman],” Dexter Isaac told AllHipHop.com from prison. “I am trying to clean it up to give [Tupac and Biggie's] mothers some closure.”
Henchman, who is currently on the run from Federal officials, claimed that Dexter Isaac, along with other (more…)

This is a lost interview of The Late Tupac Shakur in Macon Penitentiary, Speaking about jail and living the “Thug Life” it is a very telling, and good look at Tupac as a person not as a Rapper.

I didnt see anything too interesting or new here that I havent read before or seen in this documentary, but Eskay makes some interesting points :
On the heels of their massive Biggie document dump, the FBI has now released their file on Tupac. Well, one of their files on Tupac, because I don’t believe for one second that they had 600 pages on somebody as relatively harmless as Biggie, but all they have on Pac is this one file about this one incident. I know a bunch of pages from their investigation into his murder had previously leaked, but I’m guessing they’re still holding onto most of the good stuff. Because, let’s be serious, homie’s parents were Panthers, they were probably watching dude before he even made it out the womb. In any event, the files they released today deal with their investigation into the suspected extortion of Pac and Eazy-E by the Jewish Defense League, a pro-Israel group that has been classified as a domestic terrorist organization. The group was infamously linked to Dr. Dre’s departure from Ruthless Records and the subsequent negotiations between Ruthless and Death Row.

IAmNotADictionary Phrase Of The Day: March 30th – Official #Fail Day – Today marks the day that it all went wrong. Today is the anniversary of one of the most (if not the most) major fail in the history of Amerikkka. 30 Years ago on this day (March 30th) in 1981, only 69 days into his presidency, President Ronald Reagan was shot in the chest by John Hinckley as he left the Washington Hilton Hotel.
So, I really should’ve called this “F*ck John Hinckley Day” because he f*cked up big time. How did he shoot six times & miss from point blank range? He was shooting Ronald Regan not 50 Cent. #Fail… He officially #Failed. Now, I’m not advocating murder (per say) but what I am saying is that the world would’ve been much better off without him. John could’ve made it so Regan-nomics never existed & crack never even made it into black communities. It was only 69 days into his presidency so if he was “assassinated” he would’ve become a national hero instead of the bane of (Black) Amerikkka’s existance. In 81 people were still freebasing (which wasn’t much better than crack, but it was more natural than crack) really dead yet. Hip-hop was still a baby & things weren’t perfect, but it was a much simpler time.
That botched assassination attempt was the catalyst for the new Brady gun laws and all types of unnecessary (more…)

BIG APPLAUSE to Mike Marqusee’s article “The ‘world music’ fallacy.” That condescending term has begged to be called out for quite some time. That every non-Western style can be lumped into the same weirdly oblique category merely speaks toward the grip that economic and political imperialism holds over our global culture.
The endlessly rich and varied musical traditions of the planet deserve better. Quite frankly, we wouldn’t expect an observation any less sharp from the man who’s written some excellent stuff on the collision of music and struggle.
There is a bone to be picked, however, with his assertion that “The only music with anything like a global reach today is the one that’s never found in the ‘world music’ racks–mainstream Western pop, whose ubiquity stems from the global distribution of power and wealth.”
I think that while the basic thrust of this statement is true, it overlooks the role that hip-hop has come to play in the favelas and Bantustans of the world.
Of course, there’s a methodological gray area here, namely whether “pop” is still a catch-all for every “popular” music or whether it’s come to describe a sound all its own. Though there’s been plenty of crossover in recent years, it would still be hard to lump artists like Jay-Z and Eminem (more…)
