Wisconsin Police Arrest Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop-Bop-Bop

by iSpit

Here’s a tale that Dr. Seuss never wrote: the man formerly known as Jeffrey Drew Wilschke has been arrested again by Madison, Wisconsin police, who’d received phone calls from concerned residents. It seems the former Mr. Wilschke had been prowling around a local park, not far from the state capitol, when he was detained

But it wasn’t Mr. Wilschke who was taken into custody. Enter: Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop-Bop-Bop!

As the Capital Times reports, Mr. Zopittybop-Bop-Bop, who changed his legal name last October, apparently kept his old habits. He was allegedly carrying a knife, marijuana and drug paraphernalia when officers detained him last week. He’s now being held on a probation violation, linked to an arrest in 2011.

As the Times reports, Mr. Zopittybop-Bop-Bop (then known as Mr. Wilschke) was taken into custody in April for grinding marijuana in another Madison park. Police who searched his backpack discovered knives and a loaded handgun.

Although there’s no telling where Beezow Doo-Doo (formerly known as Jeffrey) came up with his new name, if he wants another one he has only to open any Seuss book to find Sally Spingel-Sungel-Sporn, Zanzibar Buck-Buck McFate, a North (or South) Going Zax or maybe Ham-ikka-Schnim-ikka-Schnam-ikka-Schnopp.

But there’s only one Sam-I-Am

Pack the Courts for Askia and Tanya

by iSpit

Download Video or MP3 -Iamnotarapperispit.com

On September 3, 2010 Askia Sabur was attacked and beaten by 4 Philadelphia police from the 19th district. On October 26, 2010 Tanya Yates, Askia’s cousin, was also attacked by 19th District police in what the police claim is an unrelated incident.

Over this past year over a hundred thousand people have watched Askia’s vicious beating and many have thrown there support behind Askia and Tanya. The Askia Coalition against Police Brutality is asking you to continue your support and pack the courts for Askia and Tanya as they go to trial together on January 12th.  We know we are dealing with an un-just system and we know we are most effective in combating  this failed system in mass. PACK THE COURTS.

Help raise awareness around Askia and Tanya’s case, support Askia and Tanya by coming to trial, and pressure the DA to drop all charges.

More details forthcoming stay connected.

ATF/D.C. Police Impersonate Rap Label & Arrest 70 in Year Long Gun/Drug Sting

by iSpit

You n*ggas are stupid…

Over $7.2 million in drugs and 161 weapons were confiscated after a year long investigation by the Washington D.C. Police and the Bureau the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, which operated as fictional rap label.

According to Washington D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier, D.C. police and ATF agents acted as undercover officers and “music industry insiders” during the year-long sting.

The police created the “Manic Enterprisess” studio in Northeast Washington, for fictional rap artist Richie Valdez in November of 2010.

Agents then told the underground world and black market that they were seeking to purchase weapons and drugs.

Over the course of the year, agents confiscated 161 firearms (including a rocket launcher), 29 assault weapons, 80 pounds of methamphetamine, 21 pounds of cocaine, 1.25 gallons of PCP, 24 pounds of marijuana, heroin and Ecstasy.

“If these drugs and guns had made it to our streets, the impact would have been devastating to community,” Police Chief Lanier told AllHipHop.com in a press release on Monday.

“This was an extremely dangerous operation. These suspects had bragged about other violent crimes they had committed and had no qualms about killing police officers, guards and other innocent people,” Chief Lanier continued. “All the law enforcement members involved in this operation are to be commended for their bravery.”

In addition to the seizures of drugs and weapons, police said many of the 70 suspects detained bragged about other crimes and reportedly stated they would kill police officers or other innocent people if necessary.

Undercover officers arrested one group of assailants in a preemptive attempt to stymie a robbery of the studio.

The depth of the investigation went one step further, when officers ventured to Atlanta with suspects claiming to be associated with the Mexican Drug Cartel “La Familia”.

The Mexican cartel members unknowingly introduced agents to the source that was supplying guns from Georgia.

“These investigations have proven very effective in targeting criminals and keeping drugs and guns off our community’s streets,” said US Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr. “The US Attorney’s Office is committed to working with our law enforcement partners and the citizens of the District of Columbia to bringing those who traffic in narcotics and firearms to justice.”

The recording studio was located at a rowhouse in Northeast Washington and was equipt with hidden audio and video equipment.

“It was just about two years ago to the day that we stood here with Chief Lanier and talked about our commitment to the safety of the citizens in the District of Columbia,” said ATF Assistant Special Agent in Charge Rich Marianos. “Today’s event shows that the men and women of ATF kept their word, and continue their work in making the citizens of DC safer.”

iTether For The iPhone: The Tethering Police Will Catch It Soon

by iSpit

Those who snag the iTether app for iOS that allows sharing a 3G connection with a laptop better be prepared for the tethering police to slap them around.

Updated: The appearance of the iTether app in the Apple App Store has drawn attention today, as tethering apps don’t as a rule make it into the App Store. Whether it will be there long or not, those who buy and use the app better be prepared for their U. S. carrier to retaliate.

I have been warning folks for months that the tethering police, aka carriers, are watching for tethering in the background and taking action when they discover customers doing it without paying for that extra “mobile hotspot” plan. Those plans can be $20 – $30 per month, and I felt confident the carriers were not going to take it lightly when customers bypassed the extra service fee through apps.

The iTether app is just such an app, it allows iOS device owners use the connectivity to supply laptops with free networking. The app’s name aptly describes what it does, and won’t keep it off the carriers’ radars for very long.

Recently, carriers have begun automatically turning on the monthly tethering service charge for customers it determines are doing it without paying. Verizon and AT&T have blocked tethering apps in the app stores on their devices, and most likely Apple will end up doing the same.

As customers, we feel the right to use the mobile broadband services as we see fit, but the reality is much different. We have a contract, and the tethering police can push us around if we violate it. They view us as service thieves if we use apps like iTether to avoid the extra fees, and they are getting testy about it.

Updated: As expected, the iTether app has disappeared from the App Store with no word of explanation. I guess Apple has your back with the carriers.

Teen Charged with Murdering 3 in Chatham Bakery Parking Lot

by iSpit

Chicago – A 17-year-old has been charged with three counts of first degree murder for the shooting deaths of a woman and two men while the three were in a car Saturday afternoon after picking up a cake at a renowned South Side bakery.

Witnesses picked the 17-year-old Chicago boy out from an array of photos as the person who allegedly shot the three who were all sitting inside a car, police said.

The two men and a woman were shot about 5 p.m. Saturday in the 8700 block of South King Drive, police said. All three victims are believed to be in their 20s, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Police said a vehicle pulled up, at least one person inside opened fire and the motorist drove away.
The shooting happened in a lot used by a Church’s Chicken restaurant and A Piece of Cake, a long-time local bakery in the 8700 block of South King Drive.

Police said the woman and one of the men were dead on the scene. The other man was initially taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but he died a short time later.

All three remained unidentified, according to the medical examiner’s office.

A bakery worker said the woman had picked up a cake at the shop just before the shooting

FEMA Returns: Area Residents Angry Over Food Stamp Confusion

by iSpit

Cant blame Bush for this one…

Last week, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, set up disaster recovery centers in the area for those in need after recent storms.

Those centers were overwhelmed this weekend, prompting FEMA to break claims into two categories, food vouchers or property damage.

Food vouchers would be handled by District Welfare Offices and property claims by the disaster recovery centers.

It didn’t seem to help, welfare offices were inundated. It was so bad in Darby Borough that police were forced to shut things down.

“Who should be blamed for this? In my mind, it’s the bosses of the Department of Public Welfare in Harrisburg,” said Chief Robert Smythe of the Darby Borough Police Department.

Hundreds of people lined up outside the welfare offices, believing they would get disaster food stamps on the spot, but instead they left empty handed and were told to fill out an application.

“I just feel that they’re not coming out here and addressing everybody properly. Everybody’s confused. I’ve been standing out at the front of the line for a while,” said Jennifer Sherwood.

Many, like Laketa Wannamaker were turned away.

She already gets state welfare benefits so today she received a form stating FEMA cut off benefits to people like her yesterday.

“I was here yesterday but they closed the office. So if you knew this was the last day, how could you close the offices,” said Wannamaker.

Others felts similar sentiments.

“They told me I’m out of luck, that I should call my caseworker but I can never get in touch with my caseworker. I call and call and call,” said Dawn Thomas.

Neither FEMA nor the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare had an answer for the problems.

In fact, a FEMA spokesperson had no idea the deadline for some benefits ended yesterday.

“To my chagrin, I have not been able to get that word straightened out,” said Michael Wade of FEMA.

Disaster relief centers in the area are open until 7:00 p.m.

For those in need of food stamps, the full list of requirements and the locations of district offices in the state are available through the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.

Dave Chappelle – Killin’ Them Softly (Full Video)

by iSpit

Killin’ Them Softly is easily one of HBO’s best comedy specials, catching star Dave Chappelle at a career high in 2000 and with an abundance of hysterical, highly polished material. Taking his time, stretching concepts and bits like a master, Chappelle plunges into a wealth of anecdotes and observations about the influx of white people into Washington, D.C. (where this show was recorded) since the 1980s. (“Who are the scariest people? White guys in black gangs. No telling what they did to get respect.”) There are fantastic tales of racing cops with Chappelle’s white friend, Chip, and a great story about being left alone in a limousine outside a busy crack house. Other good stuff: introducing a kid to a PePe Le Pew cartoon and realizing too late the skunk is a sex criminal, and why we should know our 911 calls will end up played on television.

Originally aired on HBO in 2000, “Killin’ Them Softly” is without a doubt one of the funniest standup specials available. You’ll never laugh more than you will here. Dave spares no victim as he addresses issues about the Police, Racism, Sesame Street, Kids, and the Government. It’s hilarious! Comedy doesn’t get any better than this!

House Panel Approves Bill Forcing ISPs To Log Users’ Web History

by iSpit

The House Judiciary Committee approved legislation on Thursday that would require Internet service providers (ISPs) to collect and retain records about Internet users’ activity.

CNET reported the bill would require ISPs to retain customers’ names, addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, and temporarily-assigned IP addresses for 12 months.

The bill passed by a vote of 19 to 10, and is aimed at helping law enforcement track down pedophiles.

“The bill is mislabeled,” Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), a senior member of the panel told CNET. “This is not protecting children from Internet pornography. It’s creating a database for everybody in this country for a lot of other purposes.”

The Protecting Children from Internet Pornographers Act of 2011 (H.R. 1981) was sponsored by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX) and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL)

“When investigators develop leads that might result in saving a child or apprehending a pedophile, their efforts should not be frustrated because vital records were destroyed simply because there was no requirement to retain them,” Smith said Thursday.

“This bill requires ISPs to retain subscriber records, similar to records retained by telephone companies, to aid law enforcement officials in their fight against child sexual exploitation.”

The American Civil Liberties Union and 29 other organizations sent a letter (PDF) to Rep. Smith on July 27, claiming that “any data retention mandate is a direct assault on bedrock privacy principles.”

“The data retention mandate in this bill would treat every Internet user like a criminal and threaten the online privacy and free speech rights of every American, as lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have recognized,” Senior Staff Attorney Kevin Bankston of the Electronic Frontier Foundation said.

“Requiring Internet companies to redesign and reconfigure their systems to facilitate government surveillance of Americans‘ expressive activities is simply un-American. Such a scheme would be as objectionable to our Founders as the requiring of licenses for printing presses or the banning of anonymous pamphlets.”

The bill is supported by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the National Center for Victims of Crime, the National Sheriff’s Association, the Major County Sheriff’s Association, the International Union of Police Associations and the Fraternal Order of Police.

UK Court ‘subpoenas’ @Twitter For Names Of Super-Injunction Tweeters (w/Audio)

by iSpit

Twitter is at the center of a row over super-injunctions — gagging orders which prevent a person from speaking about something — because users are tweeting information considered confidential by British courts.

A British football player (that’s “soccer player” for the readers across the pond) has taken out a super-injunction in a UK court to prevent the publication of private information. The action prevents anyone in the UK from discussing the subject of the injunction or the injunction itself.

The law firm representing the soccer player, says that it is “not suing Twitter” as many news outlets are reporting, had applied “to obtain limited information concerning the unlawful use of Twitter by a small number of individuals who may have breached a court order”.

A court ruling earlier this week ‘downgraded’ the super-injunction, citing the Internet making it ‘impossible’ to police, thus revealing the fact that an injunction has been sought, and the initials of the soccer player who took out the injunction as “CTB”.

While many have speculated as to who this soccer player is, his name is █████████ ███████████. It hasn’t stopped other US news publications publishing suggested names, however.

This comes only months after the US government subpoenaed Twitter in a bid to support the ongoing criminal investigation into the Wikileaks organisation, to collect names of those involved in the organisation or its operations.

Icelandic member of parliament, Birgitta Jónsdóttir, was assisted by Twitter in having the gagging order on the (more…)

UK Peace Activist To Sue Police Over Secret Surveillance

by iSpit

A policeman and two children at an anti-war protest

John Catt, aged 86, has had his presence at peaceful protests systematically logged by secretive police unit over four years

An 86-year-old man has been granted permission to launch a lawsuit against police chiefs who have classified him as a “domestic extremist” and kept a detailed record of his political activities on a clandestine database.

John Catt, who has no criminal record, is bringing the high court action against a secretive police unit which systematically logged his presence at more than 55 peace and human rights protests over a four-year period.

Some of the entries record his habit of taking out his sketch pad and drawing the scene at demonstrations. Other entries contain notes on his appearance – such as “clean shaven” – and the slogans on his clothes.

His lawsuit will challenge the power of police to compile secret files on law-abiding protesters.

A victory for Catt, a pensioner who lives in Brighton, would be a further blow to the police unit, which has been criticised for (more…)

Data Pirates (aka Cops) Can Hack Your Cell Phone

by iSpit

Download Video or MP3 -Iamnotarapperispit.com

By now, many of you may have heard about iPhone tracking and recording your location data, but is there anything else being extracted from cell phones without our knowledge? If you’re a Michigan state resident, the answer is an alarming “maybe.”

Michigan’s police department have been using handheld gadgets called “extraction devices” for nearly three years now, which can take every lick of data from a mobile phone. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Michigan claims that these DEDs (data extraction devices) are being used to secretly copy cell phone data during routine traffic stops.

Seems like a serious violation to the 4th Amendment, right? If the search and seizure law prohibits police officers from checking your trunk after getting pulled over, how could stealing your cell phone data be an exception? Do they really need to investigate your photos and texts? Don’t worry, the ACLU are on the case (despite being unsuccessful).

The extractors are called UFEDs—Universal Forensic Extraction Devices—which are made and sold to law enforcement by Cellebrite. The data stealer can swipe everything in under two minutes, including text messages, photos, videos, passwords and (more…)

Felcicia “Snoop” Pearson of ‘The Wire’ Among 30 Arrested In Md. Drug Raids

by iSpit

When keeping it real goes wrong…

Police in Baltimore say an actress who appeared on the HBO series “The Wire” was among dozens of people arrested in an early morning drug raid.

Police say Felicia “Snoop” Pearson, who played a killer of the same name on the hit television series, was among about 30 people arrested. Police declined to say what charges she faces.

Drug Enforcement Administration agents, Baltimore police and others carried out the raids Thursday in the city.

Pearson was convicted of second-degree murder as a teenager. In 2008, she was arrested on a minor drug charge when police went to her home to pick her up for refusing to cooperate as a witness in a murder trial. Court records show she was found not guilty on the charge.
